Full of Surprises!

It's so much fun to have company drop in . . . . On Tuesday Polly,  Anne Kohlman and Becky Butler dropped into Athens for a Spend the Night Party! We played bridge, ate dinner with my ZTA gals and then celebrated Cinco de Mayo.
Polly's nephew, Joe Turrentine, happened along and a graduation celebration took place immediately. Joe heads to Honolulu June 1 as a Teach for America teacher for 2 years.

And no surprise to us, but perhaps a surprise to those walking through downtown, Polly decides to sing one of her favorite selections . . . . . . on the sidewalk just outside of SpeakEasy! A crowd gathered and cheered with appreciation.

. . . And today . . . the last several gals are taking their finals; most have already moved out of the ZTA house. The last ones will be here tonight for one last evening in Athens.

I have guests this weekend for graduation . . Terri and Amanda Vann will come in this afternoon to celebrate Laura's graduation; Dot and Gran will be here this afternoon to celebrate with Joe. I am heading to Carrollton tomorrow to be with Mums and celebrate Mother's Day!

Next week we begin a downstairs make-over @ ZTA. Paint and wallpaper, new furniture and accessories, new flooring in the kitchen, upgraded security lighting in the parking lot, and new landscaping. Just a few of the things that the Manager of the ZTA Resort and Spa will tend to in the weeks ahead.

Have a great weekend and
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all you special gals! L & K!

Tally Ho!

Despite all the rain, the Kentucky Derby party was lots of fun! It was a great day to be with friends . . . Dave Shipley, Dave Richards & Cindy Lites and I enjoyed a mint julip or two, barbque and good times. I mean, what's a little water?
Shannon Shipley [darling daughter of Jenny & Dave had her own body guard - she was in charge of the money!], Jenny Coleman, Cindy & Becky - we had pretty good luck in the silent auction tent.

There were lots of hats - Fun times!

And a little later in Athens during the same rainy weekend . . . . . . . . . . the Dawgs fought the rain and also had a miserable series against the Gators. But we still cheered!

Bill & Mary Huggins and me.

At the end of the game, Ann Winger and I walked home! Go Dawgs!
